EPA Phase II Storm Water Program Development and Implementation, Various Communities

In March of 2003 new requirements for storm water management were enacted by the USEPA. These requirements placed primary responsibility for protecting water quality related to Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4s) on the local municipal governments that operate the systems. With the new regulations came mandated time lines for implementing new measures to protect water quality and specific requirements for program compliance. The C.W. Courtney Company worked with our client communities during 2003 to educate them on these new requirements, develop initial storm water management reports and complete compliance submittals. We remain actively engaged in developing implementation strategies and coordination of all program activities and annual compliance reporting.
